Recently a new vaccine was approved for the Human Papilloma virus otherwise known as HPV. HPV is a virus that can affect both female sexual health as well as male sexual health causing infertility and genital warts. The new vaccine while approved only for women is a huge breakthrough in female sexual health today. HPV can be a pre cursor for cancer because if exposed and if genital warts are found, each of these warts can turn cancerous. The vaccine is a series of three shots given in six month intervals starting when a girl is just reaching puberty. This new vaccine emits antibodies that reacts with the virus and does not allow the exposed female to contract the virus. A female who has been vaccinated has one hundred percent protection against the HPV. There are no side effects to having this vaccination and once the three shots are completed it offers a lifetime of protection.
